These "new" recommendations DISMISS a single strategy response by those under attack. They DO include all of the concepts Response Options has been promoting for many years to enhance the traditional response to danger of LOCKDOWN.

Providing those in immediate danger with ability, authority, and information, so that they may make a good decision in the moment is only common sense. And it has always been the basis of our A.L.I.C.E. program. But knowing the Where?, When?, and What? of a proper response does not answer How? This requires some specific, but easy and effective, strategies.

ALICE Instructor Course: The purpose of this 3-day program is to certify local representatives as instructors of a researched-based, proactive approach in responding to Active Shooter/school violence. Our goal is to have staff, employees, and students taught creative, effective, and easy strategies that enhance their ability to escape the Active Shooter event if possible, and if escape is not possible, how to make themselves hard targets.

The A.L.I.C.E. (Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, Evacuate) program is designed to enhance current “Lockdown” procedures used frequently in our educational institutions. Tragic events in our schools have dictated the need of enhanced training be provided to staff and students to increase their chances of surviving a surprise attack by an Active Shooter.
